Founded in the 1800's to provide warehousing and logistics services to the Port of Baltimore, Belts Logistics Services emerged as a beacon of innovation. With a collective experience that spans decades, our founders shared a vision to create a logistics company that wasn't just a service provider, but a true partner in success.

1845

Belts was founded in the historic maritime center of Baltimore, Fell's Point, as a terminal warehouse for the shipping fleet of Baltimore Merchant C. Morton Stewart. 

1918

The company is Incorporated in 1918 as Belt's Wharf Warehouses, Inc. located on Fell Street, and later renamed The Belts Corporation.

1967

Belts expands beyond our waterfront presence with a 200,000 sq. ft. facility handling domestic distribution in Elkridge, Maryland. 

1982

Belts Transportation Services, Inc., is established to serve the transportation needs of our customers throughout the East Coast. 

1982

The acquisition and redevelopment of 183,000 sq. ft. Belts Corporate Center Warehouse.

1987

The development of the Belts Business Center, a 216, sq. ft., high cube distribution facility near the Port of Baltimore. 

1989

The establishment of the U.S. Customs Centralized Examination Station for Baltimore in the Belts Business Center. Belts has been chosen by U.S. Customs to operate this CES continuously since then and was selected in 2017 for an additional 5 year term. 

1993

Belts continues our record of innovation and growth in constructing and operating three facilities totaling more than 900,000 sq. ft. for FILA's U.S. footwear and apparel distribution operations. Our Case Studies page gives more details of our logistics and real estate services to FILA.

1990's

Implementation of successful third-party distribution operations for Vulcan Hart/PMI, SmithKline Beecham, Fisher Scientific, QualitiCare Medical Services, Specialized Bicycle Components, National Paper & Plastics Company, Texas Instruments, Zodiac Group and others. 

1995

Belts celebrates our 150th Anniversary in 1995. In attendance were many Maryland dignitaries including the Mayor of Baltimore, the Governor of Maryland, a Maryland U.S. Senator and several members of Congress. 

1997

Belts is awarded the Governor's Excellence in Warehousing Award by Maryland Governor Parris Glendening.

2007

The development of a 154,400 sq. ft. cross docked concrete tilt wall distribution facility located at 1021 Swan Creek Drive, Baltimore, Maryland, which became the site of the Pernod Ricard National Distribution Center. 

2009

Belts was chosen to operate the U.S. National Distribution Center for one of the world's largest spirit and beverage companies, Pernod Ricard USA. 

2013

Purchase of a 171,000 sq. ft. Distribution Facility in Holarbird Industrial Park, which later became the office headquarters of the Belts companies in 2015.
